Understanding Gender Identity 101
Growing up most of us were socialized to acknowledge that as far as biological sexual identity goes, there is only the binary: boy or girl. This paradigm becomes quickly integrated into our lives. Also, we live in a culture that uses “gender” and “sex” interchangeably.
During this training, Nick will take the participants through his transition and the misconceptions around Transgender and Non-Binary people. He will introduce the Genderbread Person which breaks down the difference between Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Anatomical Sex. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the training. Duration 60 minutes.
Transitioning in the Workplace – A story of courage, hope, and self-acceptance.
Nick shares his personal story on his transition in the workplace. Through his storytelling style, he will bring you through his coming out to his boss and coworkers, corporate bullying, and how he made it through a very dark time in his life. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of this presentation. Duration 60 minutes
Supporting Your LGBTQ+ Workforce– Supporting LGBTQ+ employees is crucial to ensure that they feel safe going to work and for your organization to be seen as a safe space for all—your company relies on the well-being of the people who work there. Topics discussed during this 60-minute training are Terminology and Misconceptions of the LGBTQ+ Community, how to eliminate inappropriate behavior, Creating an Atmosphere of Accountability. Duration 90 minutes.
What is an LGBTQ+ Ally – No matter who you are or what you stand for, having a strong support system around you is incredibly important. During this 30-minute workshop, the attendees will gain an understanding of what is an LGBTQ+ Ally, how to implement support for the Ally and LGBTQ+ employees.
